Today is the last day of the campaign.

The last 18 months have been very strange indeed . I have met some great

people and made some new friends and I have realised the following things.

  1. People can be very kind and helpful and with the personal  bereavements I have had over the last year the kindness of strangers is a wonderful thing.
  2. Some people will email you abusive messages but these people always remain anonymous. I think these people are sad as if they are willing to say something to me they should not be ashamed of putting their name to it.
  3. People will lie for political advantage
  4. Many people do not understand the electoral system
  5. My family are even more wonderful that I realised
  6. I need a new car
  7. Letterboxes come in very many shapes and sizes
  8. Never approach a Rottweiler
  9. There are lots of great primary schools in Erith & Thamesmead
  10. I would nt have missed this experience for the world.

Thanks to all my friends and family, I wish my Dad were still here.

    Dear Teresa,

I was glad you suggested to me that I work for you at Norman Dodds for the five months up to the General Election. It has been an interesting and useful experience and a delight to work with Dan who, as I am sure you know, is the most uniquely wonderful person. I hope you both found my weekly contributions useful.

I wish you much luck for tomorrow and, especially, with the majority.

    Kindest regards,

    Olivia

  2. Claire Badgery says:

    Teresa,
    Best of Luck tomorrow!
I know what you mean about postboxes. I am just off to leaflet some last minute notices on your and John, John, and Grant’s behalf (and for the behalf of Bexley!)

  3. Mr. Libel says:

Will you apologise for the leaflet saying the Leader of Bexley Council has been convicted of fraud and been sentenced for fraud when she hasn’t???

  4. Dear Mr Libel ( surely not your real name)
I cant apologise for something I did not do. I did not write or send out any leaflet accusing Teresa O Neill of fraud. She is a perectly good woman and I have never had a cross word with her. I can only think you are confusing her with Ian Clement who pleaded guilty to 3 charges of fraud when he appeared before Westminister Magistrates court on 6th October 2009. I think that was a tragic episode for Ian, his family and Bexley and we should not keep dragging it up.

  5. Colin Bloom says:

    Dear Teresa

    Congratulations on your victory.

Whilst I maintain that Erith & Thamesmead has been neglected for far too long, you now have the mandate to fight for jobs, prosperity and hope in the area.

Good luck and best wishes. The next coffee is on you!

    Colin Bloom

  6. Glad I found your article on bing when I was surfing the web. Good STUFF!
